Baringo, Nandi governors withdraws from referendum push

Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi and Nandi governor Cleophas Lagat have ditched their support for the Pesa Mashinani referendum push, dealing the referendum push a major blow. Cheboi, who has been a close ally of Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto and who was in the forefront propagating the Pesa Mashinani referendum, decamped from the plebiscite push, saying he has acknowledged that Baringo residents are not in favour of a referendum.
