The Mining ministry and the Kenya Revenue Authority have in the last three months confiscated 27 illegal containers of copper ore meant for export. Mining CS Najib Balala said the copper was disguised as sand. Balala said minerals are shipped out illegally by unscrupulous businessmen using falsified documents. He said the enforcement of the regulations in the new Mining Bill 2014 has streamlined the industry.
