No public oversight in counties

Many counties are not engaging the public in budget making and implementation processes as required by the law, a report has shown. The report by the International Budget Partnership shows that only four counties out of the 47 have functional county budget and economic forums as required by law. Releasing the report in a Nairobi hotel yesterday, IBP representative to Kenya Jason Lakin said only Bungoma, Taita Taveta, Machakos and Elgeyo Marakwet had established the forums by February.
