BARINGO Kanu leaders have defended Senator Gideon Moi from allegations he supported the killings in Kapedo and Turkana East subcounty. Speaking to the press in Marigat town yesterday, Baringo North subcounty Chairman Ezekiel Komen said Moi only visits East Pokot over the hunger situation in Tiaty subcounty. The chairman was backed by branch secretary Stanley Kipkechem and eight Kanu elders from Tugen community. Komen said it is a taboo in Tugen culture for someone to incite people to fight. Some 22 GSU soldiers were killed in the East Pokot raid.
