THE Panama-registered vessel detained on suspicion of carrying out unapproved offshore activities was not harvesting corals, the environment authority has said. The National Environment Management Authority yesterday said the grab dredger Si Hang Cai Shai was identifying sites with enough sand for use in building the standard gauge railway. Mombasa county director of environment Stephen Wambua told the Star the vessel was found with 70 tonnes of sea sand, but no corals.
