Wrangles within Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders split Meru

Barely nine months have passed since an elder of the Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders, who has been the chairman until recently, publicly announced they will support Meru Governor Peter Munya to lead Meru up to 2022. The former chairman, Paul M’Ithinkia, with ex-secretary general of the council Phares Ruteere, made the announcement at Nkando Primary School in Buuri constituency.
