INTERNAL Security minister Katoo Ole Metito has questioned whether new police patrol boats were a "shoddy job". Metito told the Star that he will launch investigations next week into the patrol boats worth Sh201 million that were commissioned last year by the then minister Prof George Saitoti. The Parliamentary Committee on Administration and National Security has decided to investigate claims that the patrol boats only operated for three months before stalling, forcing police officers to seek alternative modes of transport including captured pirate boats.
