Sweden is willing to help the city council of Kisumu to improve its capacity to manage solid waste disposal, the country's deputy ambassador to Kenya Bjorn Haggmark said yesterday. Haggmark, who was speaking during a meeting of the Kisumu Local Interaction Platform in Kisumu, also promised to rally private sector in Sweden to come to help Kisumu manage its waste. Town clerk Rusana had earlier told the meeting that the existing solid waste management system in the city is unable to cope with demands brought about by rapid growth of the city adding that most of the waste is improperly disposed...
