Kakamega residents will benefit from a 'Linda Afya ya Mama na Mtoto" project sponsored by the Canadian government launched in the county yesterday. Speaking at Bukaya health center in Mumias district, national director of community health services James Mwitari said the project will improve skills of medics in maternal and newborn health. It will also strengthen essential nutrition actions to reduce infant and maternal mortalities. Mwitari said the three-year project will cost the Canadian government $8.8 million dollars.
