Unusual birth in Kocholia

A premature baby with "omphalocele" was born at Kocholia District hospital in Teso North yesterday. Doctors had to induce the birth at seven months after the mother developed health complications. Sources said the child was born with legs and hands adjoined to the head and abdominal organs such as intestines and liver were hanging from the outside. Busia District hospital medical superintendent Janerose Ambuchi said "omphalocele" occurs very early in pregnancy when the abdominal cavity malfunctions.
