Tana River county Senator Ali Bule yesterday promised to spend Sh100,000 of his monthly salary to educate bright needy students. He said this will bring down illiteracy levels which are high in the county because of poverty and past regimes' ignorance. Speaking to journalists in Garsen after a tour of the area, Bule said he will not join the clamour for higher salaries at the national level but instead will help to reform the education standards of the locals.
