PARENTS have been urged to seek medical help for children with rheumatic fever to avoid heart complications. Children suffering from rheumatic fever need a single dose of penicillin which costs Sh250 to avert further effects of the disease. If not addressed early, the fever can lead to Rheumatic Heart Disease, which is characterised by the enlargement of the heart.
