NEMA director general Geoffrey Wakhungu has said any noise above the legal level will lead to arrest. He told bar owners, party planners, churches and matatu drivers that their activities should not be louder than 60 decibels in commercial areas, 55 decibels in areas of mixed developed, 45 decibels during the day in residential areas and 35 at night. Nema officers have noise-meters that measure noise levels in decibels. Wakhungu said his officers are available to assist those who want to set the right sound levels...
