Wananchi burnt down the house and shop of a businessman at Kathiitu in Mbeere North on Monday night. They blamed Josphat Njiru for the death of a young man who was killed by a mob. Witnesses said armed wananchi attacked Njiru's compound accusing him of instigating the killing of Samuel Muchiri on Sunday on allegation of robbing him Sh79,000. They said Njiru had alleged that the Muchiri stolen the money in August and went into hiding.
