Farmers in the Rift Valley region have written to Finance minister Njeru Githae asking him to write off long standing loans amounting to more than Sh3 billion which they owe the Agricultural Finance Corporation. The maize farmers said the government had written off such loans in tea, coffee, cotton and sugar sectors yet those in the cereals sector had been left out.
