Students stranded as buses are full

PARENTS and students travelling back to work and school after the long holidays were left stranded after most public transport hiked fares. Despite hiked fairs most buses leaving Mombasa were fully booked. In one of the notices in a bus company office on Kenyatta Avenue, commuters were informed that “Kitui, Malaba, Eldoret, Webuye and Bungoma buses are now fully booked until January 9.” This means that people travelling to western and parts of eastern province will be forced to take buses to Nairobi before linking to other parts of the country or wait until Wednesday...
