Kibaki approves his huge retirement package

President Kibaki has assented to 30 bills passed by Parliament last week. The President however refused to sign into law the the Retirement Benefits (Deputy President and Designated State Officers) Bill 2013 and the Climate Change Bill 2012. Kibaki instead referred the Retirement Benefits Bill, which would have given the 222 MPs a send-off package of Sh9.3 million each, to the Attorney General.
