NACADA yesterday met political leaders from the Coast to discuss miraa chewing. Chairman John Mututho said he will also meet Njuri Ncheke and his group for their views on miraa. Speaking during a press conference at Nacada offices in Nairobi, Mututho said he will hold a threeday stakeholders’ workshop in two weeks. He said the two separate meetings will be attended by 50 to 100 people including top government officials. Nacada has proposed that miraa be regulated to reduce its health and social effects on Kenyans just like alcohol. The institution has said it will push for Parliament to pass...
