INDUSTRIALISATION Secretary Adan Mohamed has dismissed claims that cheap imports from developed countries are killing the textile industry. He termed the allegations “myth which cannot hold water”. Adan said most textile industries in the country are collapsing due to the high cost of production and lack of modernisation. He was speaking during a tour of Rivatex East Africa Ltd in Eldoret town yesterday. Adan said the government will work to reduce the cost of production to make local industries more competitive in the global market.
