Tension was high in Murang’a town yesterday after hundreds of residents took to the streets over increased insecurity. They stormed the county commissioner’s office Kula Hache demanding immediate sacking of six senior police officers and members of the provincial administration. Led by lawyer cum politician Irungu Kangata, the protestors blamed police in Murang’a of laxity in the wake of the rising abduction incidents in the area. “The gang is heavily armed and is operating while wearing police uniforms, how come police have not arrested them,” Kangata asked...
