GATHUTHI Tea Factory in Othaya has purchased 107 acres of land for tree planting. Speaking yesterday during the factory's AGM, chairman Geoffrey Kagondu said the land was purchased in Kieni West for the factory to have firewood fuel for tea processing. He however said the factory requires at least 600 acres of land to meet its total wood fuel requirements saying there are budgetary allocations to buy another 100 acres.
