THE judiciary will have independent, trained and accredited mediators attached to courts to help settle commercial disputes. Justice Jonathan Havelock said this is aimed at speeding up the determination of new cases in the civil jurisdiction in order to create investor confidence and accelerate economic development. “We have been receiving complaints from investors about delay in the determination of disputes, but our courts are congested and the case backlog grows larger daily.
