Have Kenyan MPs turned into zombies
This Saturday was a bit interesting for me as I opted to stay home and watch TV which I don’t do so much these days. There was a very interesting movie on NTV called Quarantine which was about how a city in the US was infected by zombies and how the characters in the movie cope. The concept of the zombie movie is really well defined nowadays. A rabid animal or some mad scientist will come up with some experiment that goes horribly wrong. One person is infected and they will then bite as many people as they can and pass on the virus to the general population...

Nairobi Park Diary: Water water everywhere
Again this year, the rains began promptly at the beginning of April. At the start, there were not many flood situations as the ground was dry and absorbed much of the water. However as the weeks went by, the rains increased and soon the ground reached saturation point and the excess water began to flow and flood. Roads turned into rivers and normally dry grasslands became wetlands. The park is starting to look more like Lake Nairobi National Park. Perhaps KWS should introduce boat rides as another tourism option...

In The Pink Corner: The wonderful tales of bragger Brother GK
My work commute involves a 2-hour minibus ride back to my village, and it is on many of those rides that I complete a good book, discover some uplifting music, get inspiration and occasionally, chat to an interesting co-passenger. I have also had some serious power naps on the bus. Last evening I was enjoying the silence on the minibus I took – this one had no radio blaring out sports results or the latest lame jokes as retold by local DJs. And most of the passengers were older people – tired from the day’s work and keeping themselves company with their own thoughts...
