KRA change tack to nab stamb duty and ETR tax cheats
The taxman has issued new excise duty stamps starting this month as one of the measures to curb increasing tax evasion. The Kenya Revenue Authority said Friday that counterfeit stamps have become common, costing it significant amounts in revenue loss. MIGORI town residents and business people have called on the government to speed up the construction of a bridge over River Onyinjo. The bridge which overflows cuts off the town forcing residents to take longer routes. Treatment plant to boost kidney centre
KIDNEY patients in Nyanza and Western region got a reprieve following the donation of a water treatment plant. The donation to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu can support 16 dialysis machines. KCB Foundation Board Chairman, Catherine Kola, said the hospital, which is the only public hospital in Nyanza that offers dialysis treatment, has over the years been constrained due to inadequate water treatment plants.
